This Balearic island seduces you with its turquoise water and pristine beaches. We show you insider tips for Mallorca. In our travel guide you will find great things to do in Mallorca.

1. Hidden Gem Mallorca: Bens d’Avall

If you want a restaurant with a view, then the Bens d´Ávall is perfect! It´s located in the north of Mallorca between Deia and Soller. The menu is always changing due to the restaurant’s use of seasonal and local ingredients. The cuisine is simply excellent! We have to admit that the prices are a bit on the higher side but the restaurant is still absolutely worth a visit. Make sure to book a table as it´s always very crowded.

2. Hidden Gem Mallorca: Santanyi Market

This little southern town has a wonderful market twice a week. Locals sell super tasty, perfectly ripe veggies and fruits here. There are also stalls offering wine, as well as handcrafted clothes and goods. Make sure to take a coffee break in Cassai Gran Café. When: Wednesday and Saturday

3. Hidden Gem Mallorca: Sa Calobra

Don´t miss this beach when you travel to Mallorca! It’s accessible via one of the most spectacular roads you are ever likely to drive: To access the beach, you go through a narrow tunnel through the rock! But it´s worth it: Trust us when we assure you that the water is super clear!

4. Hidden Gem Mallorca: Bodegas Ribas

This place is a must-do for wine-tasting! The beautiful vineyard in Consell (22 kms from Palma) is definitely worth a half-day trip. You can book a two-hour wine-tasting with additional delicious tapas for 30 € in total. As the atmosphere is just lovely, it’s the perfect spot at which to spend a non-beach day.

5. Hidden Gem Mallorca: Mise en Place

This cozy, delicious and healthy spot is a good place for taking a break from exploring Palma de Mallorca. The café is located in a little corner of Plaça Major. You can enjoy a delicious brunch with coffee, tea, or natural juice, with fresh pastries (cinnamon roll, croissant, etc.), fruit, greek yogurt with berries and granola or scrambled eggs and bacon. In summer you can dine outside on the terrace and during the winter months you can sit inside and absorb the cosy living room atmosphere. Of course you can also come here in the afternoon for a little coffee break with some delicious cake.

6. Hidden Gem Mallorca: Valldemossa

You should not miss this beautiful place on the Spanish island! Even if it is not a real hidden gem (it can get quite crowded during high season) it is an absolute must-see. Valldemossa is a charming mountain village famous for its monastery, La Cartuja. This picturesque village is also one of the prettiest. Wander around the lovely (oder historic) village, explore and get lost in the narrow streets, lined with flower pots. If you visit on a Sunday, make sure to check out the weekly market. Here you will find culinary delicacies: olives, serrano ham, Sobrassada sausage, wine and many other treats. Valldemossa is only about a 15-20 minutes’ drive from Palma de Mallorca in the Tramuntana mountains.

7. Hidden Gem Mallorca: La Molienda

What is one of the best starts to the day? Freshly roasted coffee and a warm, crispy cinnamon bun. Mallorca’s specialty coffee bar is a calm refuge where great coffee, delicious home cooked food and Spanish hospitality gets together. It is located north of the city center of Palma de Mallorca, with a lovely terrace that invites you to linger around for a while with some delicious poached eggs with avocado on a toasted bun. The owners try to use as many regional, seasonal and organic ingredients as possible. By the way, the audience is totally mixed. Young, old, hip, normal, Mallorcans and tourists. Because everybody loves this place so much Miguel and Toni opened a second “La Molienda” in early 2020.

8. Hidden Gem Mallorca: Mirador De Sa Foradada

If you fancy a good viewpoint check out Mirador de sa Foradada. From this point of the island you have a fantastic view of the sea and the rocks further down with the striking and well-known rock gate. We recommend buying some local food from a market to make a nice sunset picnic up here. Sunset, vino and good food means the perfect vacation. If you prefer something cooked you can enjoy this view also from one of the two settled restaurants. The Sa Foradada restaurant’s specialty is rice and paellas, which are cooked with wood, which gives it a special taste.

9. Hidden Gem Mallorca: Restaurant Nama

If you fancy a special restaurant with a nice view, delicious food and great atmosphere “Nama” is the place to go. It is located in the mountain village Deia in the North of Mallorca. The cuisine is influenced by the food of China, Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam, and is based on fresh produce. Mallorca island offers an amazing spectrum of local producers, fishermen and organic farmers. All their pastries, bread, dumplings, dim sums, baos & noodles are all handmade in their restaurant’s kitchen for the best taste you can imagine! Super fresh! Vegans will also fully come to their expenses as there are so many vegan options on the menu. All in all your unique dining experience is assured. How about a tuna tartare with avocado, wasabi and crisp wontons chips or cashew chicken with fresh greens and jasmine rice?

10. Hidden Gem Mallorca: Cala Banyalbufar

Cala Banyalbufar is a narrow beach with a length of about 100 meters surrounded by steep cliffs and mountains. The view from the beach is worth at least five stars. Terraced vineyards, fields and gardens tower above the bay, as well as some amazing villas with a far-reaching view. The water is crystal clear, from turquoise to dark blue, because of the stones and rocks. After the beach day, it is also worth walking around a bit in Banyalbufar – a quiet, picturesque town. Its location guarantees a magnificent view of the Tramuntana Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea.
