The 4-mile Harkerside Prehistoric History walk, on the other hand, will take you past an Iron Age enclosure, a Bronze Age sauna and more, across open moorland.

Near Reeth you will find the Dales Cycle Centre which offers a vast network of mountain biking trails. The Centre has many mountain biking route maps that will take you on many adventures. You can experience rides such as the 38 km Pinseat and Apedale; the 34 km School Master and The Edge; the 41 km Edge, Hurst and Gill; the 30 km Swaledale MTB Challenge Trail, a route with a tough climb and a great descent. You also can experience the Swale Trail, the only easy-going mountain bike trail in the Yorkshire Dales. Through these routes, you will be able to see the stunning scenery and breathe the clean air of the mountain.

Swaledale Festival in Arkengarthdale is an annual music and arts festival that starts on a Saturday at the end of May and offers a programme of concerts. Don't miss out on classical music, jazz, folk, as well as other branches of art such as poetry, dance, film, theatre, and comedy. The Swaledale Festival has a wonderful collection of events to keep you entertained.
