Seville is renowned for its lovely parks. If you are going to visit just one (don’t!), make it María Luisa Park just south of the old town. Stroll through its myriad winding paths and walkways and discover a host of ornately decorated squares, beautiful monuments and fabulous lake. Parque del Alamillo, just across the river from the centre, has two beautiful lakes and plenty of open space; the perfect place for a picnic. Seville is home to some of the most striking structures in Spain, from its unmatched Gothic cathedral to the county’s oldest and most prestigious bullring, and lovers of mid-millennium Spanish architecture are in for a big treat in this city. The highlight is the Plaza de España, a plaza-palace unique in the world and a spectacle of light and majesty, with proportions that are best described as lavish. As you stroll through it, look out for the banks of tiles that represent all the provinces of Spain.

Seville is well known in Spain for its rambunctious nightlife. And happily for all, upon ordering a drink you can expect a free and delicious tapa! Calle Betis is home to the best tapas bars and nightclubs in the city. Al Arenal houses the trendiest cocktail bars and hip crowd, while Alfalfa is the best for cheap, cheerful and noisy!

One of the most attractive and important plazas in Spain, it can be explored by a tour. It is also home to an excellent museum that explores the history of bullfighting.

Head to Al Aljibe for some of the best tapas in town, as well as one of the city’s trendiest and most popular nightspots. Make sure to book a table on the first-floor terrace overlooking the Alameda.

Santa Cruz is one of Andalusia’s most iconic districts. A maze of narrow cobbled streets and achingly romantic squares replete with fantastic bars and restaurants. Just wandering around Santa Cruz is an experience in itself.

Seville is home to two of the biggest teams in the country both of which play in impressive stadiums. Real Betis FC and Sevilla FC are also followed by the most passionate supporters in the country. The anthem, sang by 40,000 supporters before the match, will have your hair standing on end!

Seville can get pretty hot in summer, and what better way to cool off than a day at the city’s water park? The park is great for young kids, older kids and adults alike, the rides are fun, the park is clean, and the prices are great value!
