The Pulpí Geode, is a geode. You may be wondering what a geode is. It is a rocky cavity, usually enclosed, where minerals have solidified. This is located between the third and fourth levels of the exploitation of Mina Rica in the district of Pilar de Jaravía. It was discovered in 1999 by a Mineralogist group from Madrid and from August 5, 2019 it was opened to the tourists. You can visit the cave with a guide in groups of a maximum of 12 people for 90 minutes. They only allow you to take pictures at three points of the visit: in the cathedral room where the split geode is and in the giant geode.

The Castle of San Juan de los Terreros was built as a defensive fortress to prevent the attacks of the Maghreb pirates, during the second half of the 18th century. Sitting atop of a hill called the Natural Park of Isla de Terreros and Isla Negra, this monument is listed as a Site of Cultural Interest. The castle has five rooms: room one is the reception and information point, room two has panels of the network of Protected Natural Spaces of Andalusia (RENPA), room three panels of history and ethnology, room four ecosystems, room five geology. There is also a patio and a terrace where you can see beautiful views of San Juan.

If you want to do some excursions in the area, we recommend that you take a 4x4 route through the salt flats and the wetlands of Cabo de Gata, where you can discover wonderful natural landscapes and numerous bird populations. In addition, you can visit beautiful virgin beaches nearby and spend a fabulous day under the sun.

The Church of San Miguel, was designed in 1797 by the architect Juan Antonio Murar, in a neoclassical style with a rectangular temple and a bell tower. At that time, Pulpí belonged to the municipality of Vera. It was finished in 1810. This temple has been restored several times, in 1879 it suffered a fire, in 1966 another fire was caused destroying the altarpiece. Next to one side of the church you can see the Statue of the Children.

The Pulpí multipurpose building, in addition to hosting the supply market, houses the municipal consumer information office, the adult centre, the local library and the sociocultural centre. From Monday to Saturday locals do their shopping at the stalls full or fresh produce, fruit, meat and fish. There is a cafeteria and a children's area.
