How do I import/export a calendar (ICAL) from another provider/channel?

To find out what an iCal is, please click here. To import an iCal from another provider, you can follow the steps below. Please, keep in mind that not all external providers might be compatible.If they are compatible, you will need to provide your external iCal. Your external iCal is a URL that comes from another provider, which will synchronise your property’s calendar on the other provider with your property’s calendar on Holidu. Log onto your account and select your property On the left-hand side under “configuration” scroll down and click on “iCal”. Click on the button “configure” Select the channel that you wish to synchronise. Paste the URL of the iCal in the gray box in the first section, In the second section, copy Holidu’s iCal URL and paste it into the property’s iCal import on the channel. Make sure to follow both steps and then click on the “save” button. **please keep in mind that on Booking.com you have to choose if you would like to sync only confirmed bookings, or also manual blocks (Export options).

Connecting Feratel Deskline to Holidu

If you use Feratel Deskline, you can synchronize your property's availabilities and prices between Feratel and Holidu. About the Connection Before you connect Holidu and Feratel Deskline, it's important to understand what the synchronization covers and what is not synced. What is synced between Feratel Deskline and Holidu? ✅ Prices: Prices configured in Holidu will be synced to Feratel Deskline Availability: ✅ Booking blocks are synced both ways, that means that nights that are blocked by booking in Feratel will be synced with Holidu and Holidu bookings will close availability in the Feratel calendar. The same applied to Manual Bookings and Manual Blocks that you have entered in the Holidu calendar. ✅ iCal blocks: If you have configured one or multiple iCals synchronizations to sync Holidu with other portals or services, those will be also exported to Feratel Deskline. ⚠️ Feratel bookings will not be included in iCals from Holidu. If you wish to sync Feratel bookings to other calendars, please use the link that is provided by Feratel Deskline. ❌ Photos, description texts, etc.: Anything that is not prices or availabilities is not synced, but maintained separately in both Holidu and Feratel Deskline. Requirements Your property is published with Holidu on at least one channel. You have an active listing with Feratel Deskline. You have no other "API connection" between Feratel and another software. How to activate the connection in Feratel Deskline Webclient Before you start: Manual blocks from the Feratel calendar need to be manually added to the Holidu calendar before connecting the properties. Only once this is completed, you can now start setting up the connection between Feratel and Holidu. Add the three mapping codes and save: Now you can check if the connection was successfully established: In Holidu under the "iCal & Synchronization" tab for your property, the status says "Synchronization is active". How can I add/delete a manual calendar block?

1. Adding a block on the calendar Log on to your account and select the property you wish to edit. Click on “Calendar” on the right side of the page where there is an option “Block”. Click on the blue button with this option. After clicking on the "Block" button you will see two options: Manual Booking: this option is for any booking you receive outside of Holidu, you can add the guest's name and reservation details. Date Block: this option is for any dates that need to be blocked for any other reasons. You can use this option for repairs, maintenance, personal use etc. Each of these options will ask you to select dates in the calendar. Click on the dates, make sure the "Start Date" and "End Date" are correct and then click on "Confirm dates" and “Save”. If you are accessing your account on a mobile device, you just need to select the option “Edit” on the lower right side on your calendar and then select the dates you wish to block. 2. Removing a block from the calendar To delete a manual block from your calendar click on the block you wish to delete, a window will open with the block information. In the upper right corner there is an option to "Edit" and an option to "Delete". Click on "Delete" and select the red button that says "Yes".

How can I add/delete an iCal calendar block?

The iCal synchronization is a way to keep your calendars updated across different channels, thus preventing over bookings. You can refer to this article for further details. All iCal blocks come from another calendar that has been synchronized with Holidu. As they don’t belong to Holidu, we cannot remove them nor modify them. If you would like to modify or delete an iCal block, access your account on said platform, and delete or edit the block from there. Usually, the calendar synchronization should be very fast. On Bookiply’s side, we ensure it takes max. 1 hour to sync (which is the industry standard). You can reach out to the other platforms in order to check with them how often they send calendar updates to the other providers, and how often they pull the data the other providers send them. This is completely independent of Bookiply’s synchronization speed. An iCal block can be seen in gray on your Holidu calendar, and a Holidu booking will be shown in green. To get further details on a booking, you can click on it to find out where the booking came from. Grey = iCal block Green = confirmed Holidu booking Navy blue = manual block Red = overbooking * *There may be double configured iCals if all dates appear as overbooked. If you click on the calendar, you will be able to see more details for each booking on the right-hand side and find out where each block is coming from.

What is an iCal synchronisation?

An iCal (iCalendar) synchronisation is a way to help keep your calendars updated across different channels and lower the risk for overbookings compared to updating the different calendars manually. iCal is a software that allows calendars to communicate their availability with each other. For each calendar that supports iCal, a specific link is created. To have the calendars communicate, they need to be connected. For example, if you work with Holidu but you also have a private listing on one or multiple other channels, synchronising your iCals will allow all platforms to communicate what days are free and what days are blocked. When receiving a booking on Holidu, your iCal synchronisation will eventually block those dates also on your other calendars. Please note that this synchronisation can take up to 1 hour. In order to sync the two calendars, a bridge must be created between them, where the information can travel from one calendar to the other. This can be done by entering the respective calendar iCal link into the other calendar. By pasting the Holidu link into the external calendar, information can travel from Holidu to the external calendar. To have information travel from the external calendar to Holidu, paste the external calendar’s link into the Holidu calendar. Why are there dates in red in my calendar?

When dates are shown in red it means there are two bookings that are overlapping, sometimes this happens when there is an external sync and the calendars are mirroring each other.
