2. Go to the tunnel of EupalinosThe brain behind this tunnel was Eupalinos, who thought of making a way up Mount Kastro using mathematical calculations. This tunnel was the first of its kind in the world and planned to be the aqueduct to convey water to Pythagoreion. It was in use for a whole millennium but now, you can visit it for a short 20 minutes tour or a long one, lasting for an hour.

The little traditional tavernas fill in the quayside where tourists and locals enjoy lovely afternoons gazing at the sea while sipping a delicious coffee or having a nibble. 5. The cave of PythagorasIt is said that Pythagoras hid in a cave just at an ascending trailhead of Mount Kerkis. Inside, there were two caves and one of them was used as a classroom. There is a little white chapel at the entrance too. Pythagoras dwelling is a bit more tricky to get access to as it is located at the end of a tough trail marked with red signs.
6. Visit the Roman BathsIn Pythagorion, there are the ruins of Thermes, that is a Roman bath complex. These baths were built in the 2nd century AD and included public buildings and baths between the sanctuary of Heraion and the ancient town of Samos, now the modern village of Pythagorion). The architecture and the engineering you can admire here is just impressive! This was a sports area too including a gym and a stadium. The different pools and the sauna were what the Romans used to enjoy and socialise in their free time. The old marble walls and the mosaics were beautiful pieces of art. Now you can see what remains of this stunning complex.
