Another attraction is to hike to Mount Ida which it’s well known by the visitors as the second highest mountain in Greece. This island offers you the best impressive beaches on the North and the South coasts with very different characteristics. For example, in the north, you will find crowded beaches with many water sports and music. You have to go to Vai, a wonderful beach known by the largest palm tree, thin sand and natural beauty. However, on the south you will see marvellous and hidden beaches such as Kalypso, a green and blue water spectacular beach, ideal to practice scuba diving. Since 1914, each year, between February and March, Rethymnon people celebrate the Traditional Carnival festivities. It’s the only town in Greece that celebrates it. People enjoy dancing with masquerades and wearing colourful suits during three weeks all over the town. You will see many attractions like theatres, hunt treasure, night-time parade of the carnival floats, Kantáda (a four-hour serenade), traditional and modern music.

One of the best Sunrise and Sunset you will see is at Chania’s old Venetian Harbour. It was an important commercial area built by the Venetians, but now it's the symbol of the town's history and also, it's well known as the most romantic place in Crete. If you want to see all the wild nature (flora and fauna) in Crete, then you will visit Biotopo Nature Park. It's located in a rocky landscape with a great variety of wild species of animals, reptiles, amphibians, fish, birds and insects. In a private habitat you will see tropical animals such as iguanas, snakes and turtles. This museum was constructed by the Turks. At the beginning, it was the archaeological collection of pottery, sculptures and coins with unknown origin. The Rethymnon Educational Association acquired the collection by donations and purchases. After Crete was part of the Greece, the museum has the findings from the excavations in the Prefecture of Rethymnon. Today, you will find some big old collections from cemeteries. If you are interested in knowing more about it, then it's time to visit it.

Elafonissi is considered as the most beautiful beach in the world. It's located at the west coast of the island, and it's well known as the pink beach by its pink sand and turquoise waters. Between July and August about 2500 tourist visit this beach. Elafonissi is surrounded at the west coast of Crete by a shallow lagoon and a sandbar. This beach is considered as a natural reserve. During your visit you can explore the area and if you are looking for snacks or drinks you will find two beach bars.

It's situated at the west side of the Nida Plateau at 20 km from Anogia. Before arriving to the cave you will see mountains, landscapes, and rock formations and almost near to its entrance you will see three majestic stalactites. It's considered as a great archaeological finding. This Cave has a great Mythological and Cultural value. During Roma Era it was used to worship Zeus and Rhea. One legend tells that Zeus grown up there, but other versions reveals that Zeus was born and grow there.
