The incredible Larnaca Salt Lake must be on your list when visiting Larnaca. This incredible natural place is considered one of the most important wetlands on the island. Here you can enjoy bird watching and see other wildlife in their natural habitat. From the 17th century it was an important port and there are lots of shells remaining of that time. The name of the lake also gives us another important fact - Slat was a very important product that was part of the economy for centuries until quite recently. The best part of visiting the lake? Between November and March you might be able to spot the beautiful flamingos! It’s tricky to know where, though, as the lake covers a wide extension of almost 4000 acres.

As we said before, Larnaca is an outdoor playground for sea lovers- This includes not just the water sports we mentioned but what’s under the water too! The crystal clear waters are ideal for a diving day. Thanks to the quality of these waters, on a normal day you can have great visibility down to 50 metres. Go and visit the impressive Zenobia wreck. It will surprise you! If you are not a diver, this must-see landmark is also something you can do by taking the glass-bottom boat at the Marina. Nowadays this is a protected artificial reef and there you will spot many fish including barracudas or sea bass and striped groupers. The Larnaca Castle is one of the interesting landmarks to visit in the town. At the beginning of Mackenzie beach road, the castle stands firm and elegant, a reminiscence of its medieval past. This building was built to protect the port and now it has become a must of this beautiful location. You can secure a spot and book your tickets in advance for a tour to discover more about the past of the fort.

This listed site is a good option for a day cultural visit. This is a Neolithic settlement very well preserved. You can see 5 dwellings that have been renovated and they reflect the old flair of the muddy constructions of that era. Get a real feeling of how the village could look like then as the construction has been made as close as possible to the original ones, based on the findings many years ago.

This splendid park in Mazotos is home to different stone sculptures by Savvas Koulendros, colorful flower beds and cactus species.
