If you're looking to explore natural areas, The Lake District is a region that offers some of the best scenery in the English countryside, plus there are plenty of attractions to visit. Whether it's its numerous lakes, huge waterfalls, animal preserves, exceptional gardens or fun walking trails, you'll find something for you and your special someone here. Now, if you prefer something in more urban places, you'll also find fantastic locations in regions such as Norwich, London and Edinburgh. From magnificent cathedrals, rooftop gardens where you can admire the city, Michelin-starred restaurants, museums, clubs, galleries and much more.

If you are travelling with your family, especially with children, and you want them to have as much fun as possible, you will find all kinds of attractions in the UK. One of the favourites among youngsters is the incredible Warner Bros Studio Tour in the City of London, which focuses on the magical world of Harry Potter. Here you can wander through recreations of scenes from the young wizard's films, such as Diagon Alley, the Hogwarts Express, and Gringotts Bank. You can also buy different kinds of memorabilia such as wands, house uniforms and even the strange sweets from Honeydukes. Now moving on to another place where you can have fun with the family, is the wonderful Camera Obscura and World of Illusions, a museum of illusions where you can enjoy a variety of interactive exhibits. Some highlights are The Mirror Maze, The Vortex Tunnel, and its various light and smoke displays.

It is in the county of Cornwall that you will find this stunning garden. Formerly a clay mine, it was rebuilt to provide a home for a variety of plants, which are housed under giant domes that separate different types of biomes. Here you can spend the day exploring the various enclosures, which include a rainforest, a beautiful botanical garden, a Mediterranean area, as well as several streams and sculptures in the outdoor zones.

In the town of Windsor you will find the Legoland park, one of only 7 in the world. It opened in 1996, and here you can enjoy a wide variety of attractions related to the famous Lego blocks. First, you can visit the educational workshops, where you will learn how Legos are made, as well as interactive presentations of their robotic sculptures. There are also fairground attractions such as a free-fall tower and a car air track, but if you're searching for something a little quieter, you can always visit the miniature park or the boat rides.

If you are spending your holidays in the city of Norwich, you can't miss this magnificent cathedral. It is of Anglican worship and was built between 1096 and 1145 in a mixture of Norman and English Gothic styles. It has a large tower that can be seen from a distance with its long wooden spire top, which is covered with lead sheeting. Its exterior is quite impressive, due to the ostentatious detailing of its walls, and its numerous columns, but the interior is equally a work of art. Inside it has an incredibly high ceiling with thousands of handmade ceiling bosses, as well as beautiful stained-glass windows of religious figures, and a lovely mosaic floor.

This is easily one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country. Here you'll find everything you need to know about natural history, the discoveries that have been made since the dawn of time, and the researchers who made this collection possible. But without a doubt, the area that attracts the most attention from adults and youngsters alike is the fascinating dinosaur exhibit. The latter includes the first Iguanodon skeleton known to science, a huge Triceratops skull, and an incredibly realistic model of the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

This natural wonder is a formation of numerous rocks in the North of Ireland. It is so named because legend has it that the great giant Finn Mac-Cool built this unusual pathway as a causeway so that he could pass from Ireland to Scotland without ever having to touch water. Whether you choose to believe this story or not, it doesn't detract from the breathtaking view of these great basalt columns that rise irregularly.

Ziplining is a fun activity that you can find in many places all over the world, and in the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog you will find one of the best centres. Here you can experience three different zip lines: the Bravo, the Charlie, and the Alpha, each of which is at least 1.2 miles long. The experience of feeling like you are flying over green valleys, hills and buildings is priceless, so don't hesitate to come.

And of course we can't forget to visit the beautiful coastline of the UK. If you're staying in Wales, the county of Conwy has the largest resort in the country, called Llandudno, which has a magnificent beach with golden sands and a calm tide. Here you can spend the day soaking up the sun, diving into the waters, having a family picnic or simply strolling along the lovely Victorian pier, the options are endless.
