A wonderful place, quiet, lovely birdsong, there is an attractive walk with magnificent oak trees line the path to the priory which looks down on the river to reach the beautiful church building, the acoustics are spectacular, beautiful stained-glass windows, beautiful old tiles, an organ in working order, the Georgian mansion shows perfectly the proportions of the dwellings of that era.

It's a lovely place, tranquillity and peace prevail, well stocked, spring fed trout lakes and the dazzling Coquet River where you can fish for salmon. There is abundant wildlife, white swans, geese, ducks, all astounding, the place is also ideal for gentle walks along the river, great for a picnic, a paddle boat ride.

Founded by Reverend Reid of St Paul's Congregational Church, Westgate Hill, Newcastle upon Tyne. It is now situated in the centre of Rothbury, a small village in the Coquet Valley, in the south-west corner of the village square, which opened for worship in May 1896, once a cramped Victorian chapel, and was later moved and transformed into the attractive and welcoming place of worship it is today.
