Rising out of the stunning scenery, Happisburgh Lighthouse is arguably the town's most iconic structure. Make the most of your stay in Happisburgh, visit the renowned lighthouse, climb the 96 steps of the tower and take in the views from the top. It's not often you get the chance to have your photo taken next to Britain's oldest working lighthouse.

After your visit to the lighthouse, stop by the Lighthouse Inn and enjoy the changing food. Try the famous Lighthouse pies, the wide variety of draft and bottled beers and the restaurant's favourite dishes! Located in East Ruston, a short distance from Happisburgh, Old Vicarage Gardens is a beautiful spot worth to visit. With 32 acres of lush greenery, these splendid gardens offer a selection of exotic and unusual plants from around the world that will captivate your gaze.

Located next to Cart Gap beach in Happisburgh, stop off at Smallsticks Café for some delicious home-cooked food. Sit in the charming beach huts set in the garden, sip a cup of coffee and savour the delicious food ranging from prawns, fried cod, burgers to crispy bacon sandwiches. Five miles (8.05 km) from Happisburgh, you can find the only riverside museum of Broadland life. See the Broads' boats, discover the museum's collection of almost 6,000 items, and take a trip down the river on a steamboat or electric boat. At the museum you'll see everything from iconic boats, models depicting life 1,000 years ago to a water bike.

From Happisburgh, walk to Sea Palling Beach. This flag beach offers an ideal place to spend a day surrounded by unspoilt natural beauty. Come and spend a day by the sea, dip your toes in the water and watch the peaceful seascape at sunset. Sea Palling beach has been awarded for its safe calm waters that are rarely crowded and its soft sand perfect for making sandcastles.

After an afternoon stroll along the beach, it's always good to finish with a sweet taste in your mouth. Stop at Sandy Hill's Snack Bar and choose from doughnuts, hot chocolate, cakes, and ice cream. This little gem of a place offers delicious cow's milk ice cream as well as vegan options made with soy. You'll also find salads and burgers accompanied by delicious chilli, as well as veggie burgers.
