Holidays in Clovelly
The area and getting around
In the UK, specifically in England, we have the district of Torridge which is located in the north-west of the historic and administrative county of Devon, this presents us with a port town with an abundance of beauty and activity typical of its land, we are talking about Clovelly. Just 2.5 miles from Woolfardisworthy and 4 miles from Hartland, Torridge is on the Bristol Channel, with its eastern boundary at the mouth of its namesake river at Bideford, its main town and administrative centre. You will fall in love with its typical and traditional architecture with the beauty of its views over the Bristol Channel.
A destination that makes me feel at homeThe way Clovelly welcomes its visitors is fascinating, well... It is one of the most beautiful villages in England, not only for the area, but for its inhabitants! Of the things that are a crime to miss on your trip is its famous main street, it's steeply descending up to 100 metres with beautiful cottages that have a structure dating back to the 16th century, and among this fascination, you'll see how by the end of your tour you'll have reached a fishing harbour, where you can fish or take boat trips to the stunning Isle of Lundy... we'll warn you: you won't want to leave Clovelly.
Travellers and activities
A village that holds so much history and has within it the purest essence of its land, deserves to keep that scent of purity to bring it to new generations, and Clovelly Village does us that favour. Stepping foot in North Devon makes a visit to Clovelly Village a must, its streets and all the culture that is so prevalent in its structures is fascinating, and moreover... the views are breathtaking. It is a private village, so there is an entrance fee, but this has allowed the facilities to be perfectly maintained. We recommend going to the harbour and then jumping into the beach at the small waterfall... an experience to keep not only in your camera, but also in your heart.
Clovelly for sea loversWhen we think of going to the beach, we always think of that warm destination with families in the sea playing and enjoying themselves... well, Clovelly doesn't present that perspective. Although the sea at Mouthmill Beach is a bit tricky to get a peaceful swim in, what's around and out of the water is more interesting: the views are beautiful on the way down to the beach, as are the wildflowers that grow along the way, and there's a stream that runs into the sea that is a delight. It is an unusual paradise, but we believe that among that rarity lies its beauty, well worth the effort of the hike to find this destination; we recommend going at low tide so that you can walk along the beach and arrive to enjoy Welcombe Bay.
