Anstruther is a charming fishing village in East Neuk located south of St Andrews, and is the largest of the East Neuk towns in Fife. For much of its history it was a fishing village, although today it also lives a lot from tourism and the truth is that it has many attractions to offer. A hidden gem that many tourists often overlook when visiting this town is the ancient port city of Cellardyke, located just half a mile east of Anstruther. Today it is beautifully preserved with its picturesque colourful houses that surround the wonderful unspoiled landscapes that this city offers. Five kilometres north of Anstruther, towards St Andrews, 30 meters underground and enclosed in 5 meters of reinforced concrete is one of the most impressive attractions in all of Fife, it is a secret bunker in Scotland that opened its doors to the public recently in 1994.
