1. Visit the hilltop village of Valdemossa

Take an unforgettably scenic, 50 km drive west of Petra where you will find the stunning hilltop village and monastery of Valdemossa. The village is a charming cluster of gorgeous old stone buildings with terracotta tile roofs and narrow alleyways. If you descend the lush terraced hillside you will find lovely, secluded beaches and coves. This is a wonderful place to relax and unwind for the day. The village plaza Ramon Llull is a shady square with bustling outdoor cafes and is the perfect place to stop for a coffee or aperitif!

2. Visit Majorca’s incredible caves

Majorca boasts some of Europe’s most remarkable cave formations! Arta Caves, just a half hour east of Petra, showcase vast chambers of dramatic stalactites and stalagmites within the rock face on the northeastern coastline. Further down the coast, the four caves of Cuevas del Drach contain a massive underground lake considered to be one of the largest in the world. 4. Visit the Serra de Tramuntana

This unique UNESCO world heritage site is an excellent cycle spot for ardent cyclists who enjoy challenging climbs and is also a perfect location for auto touring. If you are an experienced adventure hiker, you can tackle part or all of a fabled 8-day, 135 km hike here! If you’d like to spend more time here, we recommend you check the villas in Santa Ponsa as this lovely town is only a 20-minute drive from the first part of the mountain range.

5. Spend the day in Palma
