This fantastic circular structure historical monument was built in the 19th century, by a famous banker, inspired by the Roman Coliseum, known to locals as McCaig Folly. In 1902, it was transformed into public gardens, it is located on the highest part of the hill and on the way up to the monument you can walk through the streets of Oban and appreciate other monuments of interest. This imposing cathedral is located at the northern end of Oban, right in front of the sea. It is an incredibly large gothic-style construction built between 1932 and 1959, contrary to what you might think, it is one of the newest cathedrals that you can find in Scotland, belonging to the Argyll headquarters. Inside you can find incredible ornamental details, high-altitude ceilings and large windows. However, if you are looking for a temple with medieval style you can visit the Moulay Cathedral, very well-preserved in Lismore.
