In this fantastic reserve, you can explore the surroundings where you will discover exotic species of animals among the five most dangerous animals for hunting, such as lions, tigers, elephants, black and white rhinos, leopards, zebras, giraffes and almost 360 different species of birds that fly over the African savannah. Additionally, you can also marvel at its abundant and beautiful flora, formed by exotic species of trees such as cerato, buffalo thorn, tamboti and impressive rocky outcrops such as red syenite.

Located on the main street of the provincial capital, Mafikeng is one of the most interesting places to visit in the city. This museum has been established since 1985, in the old town hall which was built in 1903 and which still preserves architectural features of the time on its façade. Inside you can find fantastic exhibits on the tribal origins of the province, ancient tools, handicrafts, and some ancient natural medicines. Here you will find an important historical exhibition, by the well-known political activist Sol Plaatje, where you can find his diary that describes the fight during the siege of Mafikeng in 1900. In its surroundings, you cannot miss its great monument to the fallen.

The Harties Cableway, one of the many attractions that you can find in the incredible resort town of Hartbeespoort, was built in 1973 to be renovated and modernized in 2010. It is a 1.2 km extension that reaches the top of the Magaliesberg Mountain, offering incredible panoramic views of the entire Hartbeespoort Dam. The Harties Aerial Cable way is the longest in all of Africa and is open to the public 7 days a week. It is considered by the locals as a world-class facility and one of the most pleasant ways to get to know the Northwest province.

In the Northwest province, there is an impressive set of paleontological and archaeological sites unique in the world. It was listed in 1999 as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. In an area of 474 km² you will find ancient limestone caves, among the most popular the Sterkfontein Caves, where the first remains of hominid fossils were found.
