Located on the main street of the provincial capital, Mafikeng is one of the most interesting places to visit in the city. This museum has been established since 1985, in the old town hall which was built in 1903 and which still preserves architectural features of the time on its façade. Inside you can find fantastic exhibits on the tribal origins of the province, ancient tools, handicrafts, and some ancient natural medicines. Here you will find an important historical exhibition, by the well-known political activist Sol Plaatje, where you can find his diary that describes the fight during the siege of Mafikeng in 1900.
