On the other hand, Steephill Cove, tucked away in the Ventnor Undercliff area, offers clear waters, rock pools and lovely golden sand for a sunny day away from the crowds. However, it's less accessible than Ventnor, so you'll need to visit at low tide. Steephill Cove is also home to restaurants and kiosks serving refreshments. Just outside Ventnor, the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary offers a free visit where you can sponsor and pet a donkey. Spend a whole day with these adorable creatures and give them some love — they'll appreciate it. The place provides a home for abandoned donkeys and accepts donations from anyone who wants to help. It's a great attraction to take the kids on holiday and especially if you want to help the animals!

Outside Ventnor, take a day trip to Godshill Model Village. This curious place has small-scale models of villages made in great detail and wonderful gardens in the background where you can see small trees, shrubs, and bonsai. The gardens have a collection of over 3,000 specimens of conifers and shrubs pruned according to the Japanese method of niwaki (highly sculpted trees) that will blow your mind.
