Golowan is a vibrant pagan Celtic festival that begins on June 23rd that includes the snake dance, fireworks and a fair on the Penzance quay. During the celebration the streets are decorated with colourful flags that give the city a bright tone as the inhabitants walk through the streets to the sea where an amazing fireworks display signals the beginning of the festivities. Then the next day the festivities continue with the Labyrinth Day, where children from local schools parade in themed costumes in the procession.
