Surrounded by the moat and earthen walls lies 2 hectares of fort terrain with space for playing, sports or picnics. A teahouse/brasserie is located in the brick fortification, Het Wachthuis. You can cook in the accommodation yourself, but you can also get meals, a barbecue, or a special dinner on request. A group accommodation perfect for friends and family groups. This group accommodation in Utrecht consists of 2 five-person apartments; two beds can be added at no extra cost. Both non-smoking apartments have a bathroom with shower on the ground floor, and a living room with open kitchen. The attics (open connection to the living room) of both apartments contain five box spring beds; a (bunk) bed can be added on the ground floor. The layout can be altered: a large eating table for 8 people can be placed on the ground floor of one apartment, while the other apartment can be decorated as a living room. 
From April to September, a combination with camping pitches can be arranged. An extra room of 54 m2 can be rented, and can be rearranged as dining, meeting, recreation or cinema room.  This property is located on the outer edge of the city of Utrecht next to the river de Vecht. A 15 minute bike ride down de Vecht and Oude Gracht will take you to the heart of Utrecht with the old city center, Dom Tower, Railway Museum, Central Museum, and Museum van Speelklok tot Pierement. If you follow de Vecht in the other direction, you will meander along the river through the landscape towards Breukelen and the area of the Loosdrechtse Plassen (10 km). Natural swimming water is only 10 minutes cycling away at de Maarsseveense plas; there's also a pool within walking distance.
