Inhale-Exhale-Holidays - holiday flat with magnificent sea view on a wonderful patch of land and only 10 m from the sea at Villammare
We let out a sigh of bliss as we stand on the terrace of the charming Respiro del Mare holiday flat. We look out over the impressive coastline of southern Cilento and neighbouring Basilicata. The sea is literally at our feet. The sun shines down on us from the sky. Here you simply want to linger, silently enjoy and let your holiday begin.
A few steps lead down from the approx. 1,000 square metre, fenced-in grounds of the holiday flat (semi-detached house) to an idyllic sandy bay. The beach slopes gently into the turquoise blue sea. Only approx. 100 m further on you are in the well-kept town centre of Villammare with its pretty lungomare, where people stroll, chat, gesticulate and have fun. The Italian attitude to life is literally tangible.
Holiday flat with a magnificent sea view
Respiro del Mare offers space for up to 4 people. This includes two bedrooms (double bed; 2 single beds, can also be set up as a double bed), a well-kept daylight bathroom (with washing machine) and a bright living room with kitchenette, dining area, sofa and satellite TV.
While cooking, you can enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the sea and the mountains as far as Calabria through the large, semi-circular window. The kitchen area also has access to the furnished terrace, also with sea views. From one of the bedrooms, you can let your gaze wander over the colourful Cilento landscape and the sea as soon as you get up. What better way to start a day on holiday?
Perhaps with breakfast on the terrace when the morning sun makes the crystal-clear water in front of the bay sparkle. Thanks to the awning, you can also find a shady spot here. There is another, partly covered terrace in front of the house. This also offers a great view of the nearby Tyrrhenian Sea.
Respiro del Mare is equipped with air conditioning in the hallway and a small heater for the evenings in the cooler seasons. A parking space is available in the fenced grounds.
AROUND THE AREA, SHOPPING, BEACHES
If you want to spend a holiday close to the sea and nature without the need for a car, Respiro del Mare is the ideal accommodation. The beaches, bars, shops, supermarkets and restaurants are all within walking distance.
The town centre is just 100 m away. The shopping facilities of the charming coastal town and various restaurants are around 200 metres away.
In addition to the sandy beach bay, which is only about 10 m from the accommodation, Villammare has another beautiful, long stretch of beach in the centre of the village, which is partly serviced in summer. This can also be reached on foot from Respiro del Mare.
TIP MARATEA
From Villammare, it is only a stone's throw to neighbouring Basilicata. Maratea, also known as the "Pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea", is hidden behind a winding and panoramic coastal road.
The town lies around 300 metres above sea level and is known in Italy primarily for its statue of Christ, which has been enthroned on a rocky outcrop above the town since 1965. In addition to the white statue with its outstretched arms, the small Basilica di San Biagio is also worth a visit. The chapel is dedicated to the patron saint of the town and dates back to the 6th - 7th century B.C. An impressive procession takes place here every year at the beginning of May.
You will come across many other churches on a stroll through the very well-kept centre of Maratea. It is not for nothing that the small town is known as the "town of 44 churches". Even away from the churches, you can experience a piece of unspoilt southern Italy between the countless stepped alleyways and the pretty piazza, which you should definitely enjoy alongside nature, the beach and the sea.
