Casa de Ponte was originally a modest house built in the 18th century, rebuilt in the 20th century in its current configuration, where it served as a milk collection point for local producers. One of the most imposing houses on the site, it was acquired by José de Ponte and Maria, who emigrated, leaving their only daughter on the island to carry on the legacy of honour. Casa de Ponte has been in the family for three generations and will last for many more. Casa de Ponte is a monument to the resilience and perseverance of Madeirans, a hymn to family and roots. More than a house, Casa de Ponte is a landmark of love.

This house with history is ideal for families and groups of up to five people.

The terrace and garden are spacious, sunny and offer a wide view of the ocean and farmland.

The house is 100 m2 and comprises three bedrooms, a living room, dining room, reading room, kitchen, two bathrooms, as well as a terrace and garden with sea views, barbecue and private parking.

The house is equipped with a fridge, washing machine, cooker, oven, microwave, coffee machine and other utensils, as well as bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi, TV with international and children's channels, and other amenities to provide a pleasant and relaxing stay.


LOCATION

The house is located in a rural area 366 m from sea level and 2.4 km from the town of Ponta do Sol, where there is a beach and some restaurants and cafés.

Ponta do Sol is in the south-western part of the island, which has the best weather conditions in Madeira.

A few kilometres away, there are impressive cliffs, mountains and Laurissilva forest for nature lovers and hikers.

The house has access to the main roads, but some of the roads are steep and narrow.


PLEASE NOTE

From January to April 2025 there will be work on the road next to the house which will restrict access to the car park at the house and may cause noise.

A car is recommended for this location. There is free parking at the house or on the street.

As some roads in Madeira are steep and narrow, smaller vehicles with powerful engines are recommended.

Cleaning is done before guests arrive and then a weekly maintenance cleaning is done, which includes changing bed linen and towels.

Because it is a rural area, there is potential for noise from dogs and other domestic animals on neighbouring properties.

Due to the climate, there are also insects and lizards in the rural surroundings, which can be attracted by food scraps. For those who are not comfortable with the presence of insects and geckos, we do not recommend accommodation in a rural area.


CONDITIONS

1. Parties and behaviour that disturbs the peace and well-being of neighbours are not allowed, especially between 10pm and 8am when neighbourhood noise is prohibited.

2. An online check-in form will be sent to collect essential identification data for check-in, the time of arrival and the means of transport, which must be submitted by guests at least two days before arrival.

3. Guests must agree a check-in time at least two days prior to arrival and the waiting time is 60 minutes, after which a new time can be booked according to our availability.

4. Guests may be asked to present identification upon arrival and to provide missing identification details to fulfil legal requirements.

5. Guests must inform us of any allergies, conditions or special needs before or immediately after booking in order to verify compliance and appropriate measures can be taken.
