If you rent our cottage you get the entire cottage and do not share with any other guests or the owners. It's like having your own home away from home! :) We ask that you provide your own bed linens (top sheet, fitted sheet and pillow cases) and bathing/beach towels. All beds come standard with top duvet/comforter, pillow with zippered pillow protector and mattress covers. Don't have your own bed linens or showering towels? No problem, we do offer an optional paid bed linen and/or showering towel service, please inquire.
Unlimited Wifi is always free of charge and we also offer additional optional paid services such as fire pit firewood, bed linen service, showering towels, bike and kayak rentals available for purchase prior to your arrival.
Our cottage is located in beautiful Providence Bay, Ontario on Manitoulin Island. Manitoulin Island is the largest fresh water island in the world with a rich aboriginal history of dating back as far as 10,000 Bc. Providence Bay is a delightful village community situated on Lake Huron on the south shore of the island in Georgian Bay. It is easily accessible from Sudbury (less than 2 hours away) or from the Chi-Cheemaun Ferry as South Bay Mouth and the Ferry Terminal is only 25 minutes away.)
Providence Bay is renowned for the best sandy beach on the island, with an extensive boardwalk and a children's play area. (not to mention a welcomed lack of mosquitoes and black flies)
Providence Bay is a unique to most areas in Northern Ontario in that there are virtually no black flies and almost no mosquitoes throughout most of the year. The annual Providence Bay Fair in August attracts thousands of visitors to the area. The parade snakes through the town to the delight of the gathering crowds. The Fair is held on the third weekend of August each year. Providence Bay also boasts fantastic cross country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter.
Another plus: it's only 25 minutes from the ferry at South Baymouth.
Please note that we do offer additional paid services for purchase prior to your arrival including firewood, full linens for all beds, showering towels, bike & kayak rentals.

Do we need towels or linens? All of our beds have pillows, mattress pads and a top comforter. Unless you request our optional linen and/or showering towel service, all guests are required to bring pillow cases, fitted sheets and top sheets – or sleeping bags, as well as towels for showering. We do provide dish towels, hand towels and face clothes at no cost but we do not provide beach towels.
Why is there a charge for linens and towels? Over the years of renting our cottage, we have found that many guests prefer to bring their own bed linens and/or favorite towel for showering so in the efforts of keeping our nightly rates as low as possible, we exclude the costs associated with laundering and replacing towels and linens in our base nightly rate.

Is there a lake and/or beach close by? Yes, Providence Bay has the largest sand beach on Manitoulin Island and you can see it from the backyard of the cottage. Walking to the beach, playground and boardwalk area can be done in less than 2 minutes, there is no need to drive.
