Ground Floor: Split-level living/dining room (fireplace, TV, DVD). Kitchen (oven, microwave, dishwasher). Double bedroom. Twin bedroom. Shower room (washing machine). WiFi. Outside: Lawned garden. Covered terrace. In-built barbecue. Fenced garden. Private shaped swimming pool (6m x 4m at widest point) with Roman steps.
This charming, semi-detached house is aptly named after the Medlar tree that adorns the pleasant, enclosed garden. Níspero enjoys a sunny situation, with a swimming pool to the front, shaded and lawned grounds to the rear and an attractive covered front terrace that serves as the ideal viewpoint from which to watch over children as they play in the pool. Comfortably furnished and with a modern, fitted kitchen this is a good choice for couples or smaller family groups who wish to be close to amenities as well as the spectacular coastline below the Begur headland.
Within a 10 minute drive of the house you will find an excellent choice of unspoilt cove beaches while, a little further afield, the large bay of Pals offers a wide sandy beach with good amenities and a range of watersport facilities. Well preserved, ancient walled villages such as Pals, Peratallada and Palau Sator with their cobbled streets, traditional restaurants and unique atmospheres are easily discovered inland, the bustling market town of Palafrugell with its lively central square is 6km away and the local beauty spots of Llafranc and Tamariu are just 10km away.
Begur itself is an appealing hilltop town, crowned with a spectacular 11th Century stone castle and privileged to wonderful views of the Medes Isles and the Pyrenees to the north. Narrow winding streets, boutiques and restaurants with peaceful romantic walled gardens make it a wonderful place for a pleasant evening stroll. Wednesday is market day, when local farmers from nearby villages come to town and set up their colourful stalls in the shade of the imposing stone church of Sant Pere. The colour, aroma and general outdoor life is pure Mediterranean.
