Enjoying a superb rural setting beautiful countryside, a short distance from the Coastal Path in stunning Dorset, is this chocolate box cottage, St Gabriel’s Cottage.
The ideal location for families or groups travelling together, the thatched cottage offers a wealth of original features and provides its guests with a truly rustic holiday.
Stepping into the sitting room is like stepping back in time with a traditional inglenook fireplace, ceiling beams, wood flooring and delightful picture windows, all of which add up to create an inviting ambience.
The kitchen is fitted with everything needed to create delicious cuisine for the whole family and there is an attractive dining area here where guests can enjoy tucking into some of that wonderful food, maybe sourcing some of the incredible ingredients available locally.
If the sun is shining then you can step outside into the magnificent cottage gardens where there are lawns, shrubberies, a patio and garden furniture; the perfect spot for everyone to gather.
The children (and dogs!) can run around the ample lawns while the adults make the most of their free time to really relax into the holiday vibe.
As the sun sets over the stunning thatched roof of St Gabriel’s Cottage, make your way to any of the well-appointed bedrooms which come complete with feature cottage stone walls, ceiling beams and views over the gorgeous gardens.
Despite the traditional feel of the cottage, the shower room is contemporary in style and is great for hopping in for a refreshing soak before planning the day’s activities.
There is no shortage of things to do locally with the simply stunning village of Chideock a short walk and from here you can start following the South West Coastal Path.
Nearby towns worth visiting include the market town of Bridport which featured regularly on the River Cottage hit TV programme and Lyme Regis known for its causeway, harbour, beaches, museum and aquarium and which also has a good range of shops and amenities.
If you want to jump in the car and be rewarded with some scenic journeys then check out Chideock Manor Gardens, Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre, Tunnel Tree Tops, the Jurassic Fun Centre, Town Mill and Axe Valley Wildlife Park.
