Washingpools is renovated holiday home where sheep used to be dipped historically and it’s located in West Bexington, a charming coastal village in Dorset.
It’s a lovely retreat for couples as the property sleeps two people. Washingpools welcomes two well-behaved dogs.
The property has everything you need for a comfortable holiday with cosy and comfortable bedroom and a shower room.
Few minutes’ walk across the fields will take you to the famous Chesil beach, a 18-mile stretching pebble beach which is home to rare species of wildlife and common Dorset birds. The property is popular with birdwatchers, walkers and guests who love a quiet location.
Within a walking distance you will find a charming tea room where you can relax with a cup of tea after a walk or you can choose to head home to your comfortable and cosy cottage sheltered from the busy life. Warm up your feet by the fire with a book or a glass of red and enjoy a calm evening.
Get some fresh local produce in a farm shop nearby in the village. If you need a larger shopping, the village of Burton Bradstock has a full-week working shop and the market town of Bridport with many shops, supermarket and a farmer’s market is a short drive away.
Beautiful seaside town of Weymouth with sandy beach perfect for basking in the sun or a swim is a few miles West.
Washingpools is a charming base to explore and get away with your loved one for a week or more and be surrounded by astonishing nature.

Washingpools is a well-equipped, cosy property situated in the West Bexington just outside the village of Burton Bradstock near to the town of Bridport in Dorset and benefits from the countryside. The cottage can sleep two people in a double room with a wet room. The rest of the property is all open plan, the cosy kitchen, dining room and sitting room with a wood burning stove. Outside of the property is off road parking for 2 cars and extensive garden area surrounding the countryside. Welcomes two well behaved dogs, so Washingpools is perfect for a couple and their dog looking for a countryside retreat.
Note: max 2 people.Note: no WiFi.Note: whilst part of Washingpool's charm is being 'off the beaten track' and surrounded by countryside, please be aware that the access is quite literally off the beaten track! There is a short drive of 2-3 minutes down a private road which is bumpy and unmade in places. The last 20 yards from the parking area is on foot down a concrete slope to a small metal walkway over a pretty little stream and then a few steps across grass to the front door. Please do not deviate from the concreted area as you may get stuck in the mud.Note: please take care when turning your car, there is a bump in the concrete paving and grass opposite so stay on the paved area whilst turning.Note: we advise arriving in daylight to find the access lane and onward to the property. Please bring a torch if arriving in the dark.
