The villa is situated on a small hill high above the sea, so that you can enjoy a panoramic view over the coast and the sea all day long as far as the old watchtower Torre del Pirulico on the steep cliffs in the distance. The view is unobstructed, the property and the pool are secluded from all sides due to the hillside location. This means you can enjoy a holiday in complete peace and seclusion.
The well-kept, uncrowded beach of Mojacar Playa is right at your feet. You can easily reach it by car (2 minutes) or on foot (8 minutes). The beach is 700 m away by road and 400 m as the crow flies.
The house can be reached via a 30 metre long driveway and has its own lockable carport. From the garage you reach a lushly planted front courtyard and the entrance to the detached, single-storey house.
The vestibule, which is covered with a dome, leads you into the spacious living room. Here you will find a leather seating area, a television and a library. There is also a dining table with chairs in the living room if you want to eat inside.
The kitchen is equipped with a four-burner gas hob and oven. Two fridges, a coffee machine, microwave and dishwasher are available. An iron, washing machine and other items can be found in a separate storage room. From there you can reach a small kitchen courtyard where you can hang up laundry.
The bedroom has a double bed and a large wardrobe. Right next to it is the bathroom with shower. A second, smaller bedroom with a double bed and wardrobe is also located in the main house. It does not have its own bathroom, so that the main bathroom or the separate guest toilet (with washbasin) can also be used.
The terrace is at ground level directly in front of the house and is lushly planted. It has a table with chairs and parasol, for dining or simply to enjoy the fantastic sea view.
A second, lower terrace, where the swimming pool is located, can be reached via a staircase from the upper terrace (not barrier-free). There are two sun loungers and a covered seating area with table and chairs for afternoon coffee, for example. The pool is approx. 10 metres long and has a slope so that it is suitable for children in the front section and does not have standing height in the rear section. A wide flight of steps leads into the pool.
From the lower terrace area, another flight of steps leads to the flat below (not barrier-free). This has its own entrance and can be locked. It contains a double bed and a sofa bed that can be folded out into a double mattress if required. Attached is a small bathroom with WC, bidet and shower.
About the surrounding area: The coastal town of Mojacar is located on the largely unspoilt Costa de Almeria in southern Spain. There is a strict construction ban on multi-storey buildings in the town. The house is located in the centre of the town on a hill and thus offers a magnificent view of the town and the coast. As a tranquil holiday resort, Mojacar offers fantastic beaches, diving schools, golf courses and a riding stable.
Numerous restaurants offer both local specialities and international cuisine.
Bars and discos provide a varied nightlife. Various sights in the surrounding area offer attractive excursion destinations: the nearby Cabo de Gata coastal national park with its beautiful beaches, the old town of Granada with the Alhambara, the palm grove of Elche, or the desert of Tabernas with its western film backdrop are tempting excursions
How to get here: The nearest international airport is in Almeria, 80 kilometres away, and can be reached quickly via the motorway. Travelling via the airports of Alicante, Granada or Malaga is also possible without any problems. The cheapest flight connections, sometimes as little as 20 euros each way, are generally to Malaga. Car hire is also available at these airports (if booked in advance via the Internet).

Other living room facilities : The living room is very spacious and generously furnished. The floor is paved with marble slabs and the walls are partly decorated with Moorish blind arcades. A comfortable sofa corner with leather upholstery around a glass table offers space to sit and watch television. The dining table in a separate area of the living room can be used if it is too cold or windy outside (for winter rentals). In the living room there is also a small library with novels, travel literature and art books, which you are welcome to read. A grand piano in the library corner is also available for guests to use, but please treat it with care (children should not use the instrument to play unless they have had piano lessons). There are personal belongings on the shelves and in the wall cupboards in the living room, as the house was lived in all year round by the landlord's parents until recently (we kindly ask the tenants to respect the private belongings and not to disturb them). From the living room you can step through a patio door directly onto the upper terrace with its outdoor seating area. Also directly accessible from the central living room are bedroom 1, bathroom 1, a second toilet and the kitchen. The living room can be accessed from the house entrance via a vestibule with a domed ceiling.

Other bedroom furnishings : The bedroom has several spacious built-in wardrobes. It has direct access to the main terrace and therefore sea views. The baby travel cot can be set up in bedroom 1.
Bedroom 2
Other bedroom facilities : The second bedroom is located separately from the main house below the pool terrace and is accessible via a staircase from the main terrace (not barrier-free). The separate entrance is lockable. The spacious room has its own small bathroom with shower and WC. Bedroom 2 also has a sofa that can be folded out into another bed (e.g. for children) on prior request. There is also enough space to set up a travel cot for a baby. Bedroom 2 can therefore be used by a small family.

Other bedroom furnishings : The third bedroom is very small and does not have its own bathroom. Therefore, the bathroom of bedroom 1 (with separate access) as well as a separate second toilet with washbasin can be used. Bedroom 3 is particularly suitable for children who share their parents' bathroom. There is a spacious closet in bedroom 3.

Other bathroom facilities : The bathroom is located next to the bedroom, but can also be reached from the living room through a separate door. A large mirror and a spacious shelf as well as a vanity unit are available. The bathroom was renovated in November 2018.

Excursions: secluded, wild and romantic beaches for nature lovers can be reached in a few minutes (by car): Playa Macenas (4 km), Playa Bordenares (7 km) and Playa del Sombrerico (8 km). The Cabo de Gata National Park, located by the sea, is just 20 km away by car, with beautiful beaches, secluded landscapes and cosy coastal towns. You can also go hiking in the nearby Sierra Cabrera coastal mountain range (5 km). Day trips take you to Almeria with the Moorish fortress Alcazaba and the Archaeological Museum, to the Tabernas desert, to the cave town of Guadix and to Granada with the world-famous Alhambra of the Arab kings.

The traditional village on the mountain with its car-free, narrow, enchanted streets offers the visitor many small shops for fashion, jewellery and souvenirs, numerous pubs and restaurants. The village on the coast is called Mojacar Playa and is one of the quietest holiday resorts on the Spanish coast, far away from the crowded tourist centres of Spain. There has been a ban on building multi-storey houses in the village for decades, giving it a Mediterranean flair and allowing unobstructed views of the sea, especially from our property. A road runs along the coast through the village with countless restaurants and bars, a discotheque and a large and a small supermarket. Along the sea, just a few metres above the beach, there is a pleasant path for walkers and joggers that runs through the entire village. The wide sandy beach is several kilometres long, interrupted by small rocky headlands, and is kept very clean. It is freely accessible along its entire length. For families with children it offers ideal bathing and playing opportunities.

This spatial separation offers a certain degree of protection against the little ones going swimming on their own. The key to the pool terrace can be handed over on (prior) request. There is a large box with water toys by the pool, which previous guests have left there and are welcome to use.
A baby travel cot is available, which can be placed in bedroom 1 or bedroom 2 (under the pool terrace). A sofa bed for children can also be folded out in bedroom 2. 2x bedding for children is available.
