As you enter Mġarr Harbor, while still on board the ferry, you will notice that some of the cozy landmarks of the port village of Għajnsielem, up the hill: Chapel of Lourdes with its sharp bell tower and Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes, Fort Chambrai on the left hand side overlooking the cliff and, further away, the towering Belfry of Għajnsielem Parish Church.

The name Għajnsielem means "a quiet spring" and originated from the spring water around which, in the 1700s, Grand Master Perellos built a portico containing public wash basins and fresh water showers.

A visit to Għajnsielem should start with Mġarr Harbor and a fishing village, followed by the small church of Our Lady of Lourdes from where, especially at sunset, there is a nice view of the harbor.

The eighteenth century Fort Chambrai was designed to be the Valletta of Gozo but never had far. From outside the walls, there are breathtaking views of the south cliffs of Gozo, Xatt l-Aħmar and the northern channel of Comino. A winding road leads Xatt l-Aħmar Bay and Mġarr and there are good walks along the cliff tops.

At the center of the village stands the majestic parish church, a Lombard-gothic style sanctuary dedicated to our Lady of Loreto. Also nearby is the old parish church and the mysterious "Pjazza Tad-dehra" (Apparition Square) where it is believed that Our Lady spoke to an Anglu Grech, a local pastor.

Also worth a visit to the old Franciscan convent and Church of St. Anthony of Padua and the area around the convent is wonderfully peaceful and blessed with fabulous views over the Gozo channel - particularly beautiful in the early morning or at sunset.
In Our B & B:
the bathroom is shared and therefore requires cleanliness and hygiene in respect for the other guests in the structure. Our structure is located in a quiet place, close to the port of gozo and to public transport agencies. We offer at an extra cost the return transfer service from Luqa Malta airport or from the port of Valletta Malta to our hotel in Ghajnsielem Gozo always at a minimum extra cost we offer lunch and dinner service or one of two meals to choice while the colazine is included in the price and we offer the taster service for the fantastic and famous island of comino where the movie Laguna Blue was filmed with lunch at sco at a very minimal and competitive cost. We ask for maximum hygiene for the shared spaces, such as the bathroom, the relaxation area and the dining area, breakfast and kitchen, the hair dryer is shared, located in the bathroom and once used must be stored in its place, the washing machine can be used at an extra cost of only € 2, we ask you to use the air conditioner with caution and do not leave it on for the whole day or night otherwise an extra cost will be applied ....

It is preferable not to make much noise after 22:00 but you can organize birthday parties or parties occasionally and you can take advantage of the barbecue service at an extra cost, smoking is permitted in the outdoor areas of the property, smoking is prohibited in the internal rooms of the struct.
