Also worth a visit in the unique Val de Saire region is Barfleur, officially one of the most beautiful villages in France, or take a detour to Gatteville, where you can enjoy a fantastic panorama over the Cotentin peninsula from the lighthouse with its 365 steps. You can also experience Utah Beach, known as one of the Allied landing beaches during the Second World War. The village of Sainte-Mère-Eglise, where D-Day took place, is well worth a visit.
